STEAM Works is a family-run, women-led business built by educators, offering hands-on, future-focused STEAM learning with LEGO®-powered tech and enrichment for all youth.
STEAM Works offers engaging day camps where K-5 students dive into the exciting worlds of LEGO® robotics and drones. Campers participate in hands-on activities, building and coding robots using LEGO® Education kits such as BricQ Motion™, SPIKE™, Mindstorms NXT™, WeDo 2.0™, WeDo 1.0™, and Mindstorms EV3™. Beyond robotics, the program incorporates intriguing science experiments, exciting art projects, and various technologies like software, tablets, and laptops. The curriculum is designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Students learn basic coding and introductory engineering skills while also developing soft skills like perseverance and confidence. Each session offers new projects and challenges, ensuring a fresh experience for returning campers.
A typical day includes a free build session, warm-up activities, guided STEAM projects or challenges, snack and movement breaks, and a second activity, concluding with cleanup and sharing.
This camp is best for elementary-aged students (K-5) who are curious about how things work and enjoy hands-on building, coding, and creative challenges with LEGO® and other STEAM materials.
