About this camp

The Women in STEM Virtual High School Summer Learning Academy (SLA) is a two-month online program for rising 10th-12th grade students. It focuses on developing STEM professional skills such as mindfulness in design, design thinking, and presentation skills. Participants engage with weekly informational newsletters aligned to digital badge content and attend weekly 'Role Model Monday Webinars' featuring alums, current students, and corporate partners who share their STEM experiences. The academy offers the opportunity to earn four digital badges that enhance STEM skills and can be added to a STEM resume, including a 'Data Science 101' badge. The program culminates in an end-of-camp celebration with a design challenge showcase and a UT Austin admissions presentation. Students spend 2-4 hours weekly on asynchronous activities, with the exception of the live webinars.
