About this camp

Neuron Garage's Invention Convention camp empowers elementary-aged campers (K-6th grade, must be 5 years old) to transform their ideas into tangible creations. The program emphasizes a "Think > Build > Learn" framework, encouraging children to design, construct, test, and refine their own inventions using recycled materials. This hands-on approach fosters creativity, problem-solving, and resilience as campers navigate successes and setbacks, viewing them as integral steps toward innovation. Each week presents a new, open-ended engineering challenge, such as building a cardboard arcade, musical instruments, or medieval castles with working drawbridges. Campers gain practical building skills, learn to collaborate with peers, give and receive feedback, and develop a growth mindset—the belief that their abilities can be developed through effort and good strategies. The camp aims to build confidence and a lifelong love for learning through engaging, hands-on activities.

What a typical day looks like

A typical day at Neuron Garage balances individual and group activities, starting with arrival and play, followed by community building. Campers then engage in dedicated "Build Time" for their weekly engineering challenge, break for lunch and more play, and continue with building and collaborative activities in the afternoon, concluding with a daily wrap-up and reflection.

Best suited for

This camp is best for curious elementary-aged children (K-6th grade) who enjoy hands-on building, creative problem-solving, and developing a resilient attitude towards challenges.
