About this camp

The AI-Powered Robotics Lab at iCode Austin introduces students to the exciting world of artificial intelligence through hands-on robotics. Campers will utilize the VEX IQ AI Vision Sensor to train robots to identify objects and navigate various challenges. The curriculum also incorporates AI language models like Gemini, which students will use as a coding assistant to help generate and troubleshoot their block-based programs. The camp culminates in an AI Grand Challenge, where students apply their acquired knowledge to build and program a robot to solve a complex, custom-designed problem. Beyond the core robotics and AI activities, students also engage in daily Digital Citizenship lessons, focusing on online safety and responsibility, and a one-hour Personal Project Lab where they can explore their own interests with instructor and AI guidance. The program emphasizes the development of essential soft skills such as teamwork, communication, creativity, perseverance, and critical thinking.
