The camp focuses on building AI models from scratch and developing an independent research project chosen by the student, emphasizing creation over consumption of technology.
Students at Club SciKidz Austin's AI and Code camp will immerse themselves in artificial intelligence and data science through hands-on, project-based learning. The program emphasizes creating technology rather than just consuming it. Campers will learn to code and build their own AI models from scratch, focusing on core skills such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), data analysis and visualization, and face and voice recognition. The curriculum encourages critical thinking and problem-solving, culminating in an independent research project where students choose a topic of interest to showcase their newly acquired skills. This camp aims to foster a love for STEM and equip students with valuable 21st-century skills for future success.
A typical day includes general check-in, an all-camp morning meeting, two S.T.E.A.M rotations, snack breaks, lunch/recess, and an outdoor component with team and skill-building activities.
This camp is best for curious middle and high school students (ages 13-15) who enjoy hands-on projects and want to explore their creativity through coding and AI development.
